MESARD is an all-volunteer, non profit organization which provides trained handlers and search and rescue dogs to assist in locating lost and missing persons. MESARD members are prepared to respond within 15 minutes and are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Behind each search lie hundred of hours of training, specialized classes and lots of hard work for both dogs and handlers all on a 100% volunteer basis.
All MESARD services are provided at no cost to the requesting agency or the victim’s family. Each member absorbs most of the cost associated with running MESARD operations.
